Boruto And Kawaki Defeats The Strongest Villians From The Past

Boruto: Naruto Next Generations has a lot of things that are new to even Naruto. From Naruto’s Baryon mode to Kawaki’s arrival in the Hidden Leaf, Boruto keeps getting better with every chapter. The latest chapter 54 highlighted a new brotherhood spurring between Boruto and Kawaki after the battle with Isshiki and Momoshiki.

Note: The following contains spoilers for Boruto: Naruto Next Generations chapter 53 and chapter 54 by Masashi Kishimoto.

In Boruto chapter 53, Naruto and co. defeats the Kara Organization leader Isshiki Otsutsuki. The villain is gone for good, thanks to Naruto’s Baryon mode and Kawaki’s quick thinking skills. But it’s too soon to celebrate because the second villain comes out of hiding and attacks while the heroes are dealing with battle fatigue.

Boruto, who is also the vessel for Momoshiki, comes from behind and attacks Sasuke Rinnegan’s eye with a Metal Kunai. In the next chapter, Naruto wakes up to find Momoshiki has possessed his son, and while he struggles to get up, Kawaki takes the lead and starts a one-on-one battle with Momoshiki.

Momoshiki is an intelligent celestial being and uses his sweet talk. He lures Kawaki to stab him with a Kunai. While Momoshiki puts pressure on Kawaki’s back, Sasuke intervenes and drop-kicks him to the ground. After waking up, Momoshiki explains that the Karma seal is effective and releases the Otsutsuki Clan in the blood. Technically, Kawai and Boruto are both 80% Otsutsuki Clan members, and like Kawaki, who was the vessel for Isshiki, Boruto is also a vessel for Momoshiki’s reincarnation.

As Kawaki yearns for Boruto to wake up, Sasuke joins the battle and attacks Momoshiki with his Kusanagi. Momoshiki, who is a powerful creature, doesn’t deflect the sword. Instead, he takes a blow. This act of putting himself in harm alerts Sasuke that there might be something wrong with his Chakra. After using the fire style fireball, Momoshiki again deflects the attacks without absorbing them. At this point, Sasuke realizes that during the fight with Isshiki, Boruto ran out of Chakra and passed out. Sasuke explains to Kawaki that Boruto is still hidden inside, and if he uses Karma too much, Boruto might feed into it to take control over his body.

Momoshiki realizes that Sasuke and Kawaki might have noticed the Karma drop in Boruto’s body. Since Sasuke is a grade 1 Ninja, Momoshiki uses Boruto vanishing Rasengan to hit him on the heart, making him paralyzed for a few minutes.

Boruto attacks Kawaki, and he sends him flying with a single kick. In the midst of all this, Kawaki realizes what Sasuke said before and to feed Boruto Chakra, the only way left is to burn himself up and let Boruto consume his burning Chakras. Momoshiki loses control as the flaming Chakra reaches Boruto, and he wakes up from his sleep. After Boruto’s retrieval, Momoshiki possesses Boruto’s face and his right hand. As a last resort to save Kawaki, Boruto plugs out Momoshiki’s horn from his head and falls to the ground. At last, the teens are saved, and both of them share a moment of rejoicing as they manage to protect themselves from two strong entities.

Conclusion

While Kawaki and Boruto celebrate their victory, Sasuke finds Naruto in a near-death situation. The last Boruto chapter left fans at a cliffhanger. Chapter 55 will unveil the future for the 7th Hokage. As we have seen in chapter 53, Naruto’s life force was squeezed to a few minutes, and it is only a matter of time when Naruto’s demise will take place, but as the Seventh Hokage, it is not easy to take down Naruto with a fight like this.
