5 Anime Sequels Releasing in 2021

The year 2020 blessed anime and pop culture fans with tons of shows and sequels, but the year 2021 has far more shows, both new and sequels, to ignite the otaku fire inside their souls. With Attack on Titan  and The Promised Neverland making their comeback in 2021, here are the top 5 anime sequels in 2021.

Beastars

If Disney needs to learn animation from someone, it has to be Beastars. The show is distinctive in its art style, which sometimes gimmicks the American art style but never actually copies it. The first season was the best thing that happened to the anime medium in 2020, and since its release, fans accepted Kawaii animals as real characters and sympathized with them as well.

The show theme was central to the story as it explored the biggest question in the animal kingdom of co-existing. The second season will explore more relationships between carnivores and herbivores.

The Promised Neverland

Some TV series come out of nowhere, and the whole fandom shifts to their gripping story, aesthetically pleasing animation, and the overall atmosphere that brings the community together. The Promised Neverland is one such show that came as a little surprise when everything was looking bleak in the coronavirus lockdown.

The show gambled all its chips for the orphanage kids and how they would get slaughter for the demon to consume. But Emma and her plans to take all the kids outside of the orphanage/human form was successful in the end. However, some kids are still left on the farm that Ema vowed to protect after coming back in the two years.

Attack On Titan

Honestly, Attack on Titan shouldn’t be on this list as it already premiered the first episode in 2020, and the second episode will release in 2020 as well. The show will end in summer 2021. AOT season four is currently between the two years, making it harder for the fans to put the show in any category.

After season three, it was clear that Eren will take on the world, and the people on the other side of the ocean are his enemies. He learns about himself in season three, and he realizes how much power he holds. And fans can expect another modern-classic anime in the making after FullMetal Alchemist.

Fruits Basket

Since its release, Fruits Basket has been a fan-favorite for romantics. The show cast is reliable when it comes to slice-of-life joy and cute anime girls doing cute things cliches.

In the last two seasons, the missing zodiac members tapped into the darker story elements and hopeful the third installment will do the same for the anime adaptation of Fruits Basket Season three.

Zombie Land Saga

Zombie Land Saga is a hilarious show centered around four girls who somehow turn into a zombie after dying in accidents. They somehow retain themselves as zombies and join an organization that makes them into a female idol group. The best part about the show is the cute and distinctive zombie girls who learn to sing and behave like an idol when they are not human.

While Tatsumi tries his best to train the girls, it is up to them to keep their secret hidden from the rest of the world to move forward in life as a real idol group.
