How to Solve Slow Loading Web Pages Problem on Windows 10

There can be many things or reasons due to which web pages might load slowly on Windows 10. However, there are a few things that you can do to fix this problem. So, today we are going to teach how you can fix slow loading web pages problems on Windows 10.

Here’s how you can fix slow loading web pages on Windows 10.

Disable Windows Update Process

Disabling Windows Update is an instant solution if web pages are loading slow on your Windows 10 computer. However, it’s not a permanent solution. Why? Because if you disable Windows 10 update service permanently, then Windows would not be able to download and install available updates on it. As a result, you may face security and performance issues in your computer system.

So, make sure you also enable this service again after some time to install all the latest system updates on your computer system.  To disable Windows 10 update service:

  1. Navigate to the Control Panel.
  2. Now tap on “System and Security.”
  3. After that, tap on the “Administrative Tools” option.
  4. Next, find the “Services” shortcut and double-click on it.
  5. Now scroll down a little and locate the “Windows Update” service.
  6. Next, right-click on it and tap on the “Properties” option.
  7. Now go to the “Startup Type” field and select the “Disabled” option from it.
  8. Finally, tap on the “Apply” option to confirm your changes.
  9. You have successfully disabled the Windows 10 Update service on your computer system.

Now when you want to enable this service, simply follow all the above steps (Point 1 to 6) and select the “Manual” option in the “Startup Type” field and tap on the “Apply” button. Finally, go to the settings app and update your system.

Close Background Apps & Services

There can be many useless apps and services that might be running in the background and might be consuming your internet and computer resources. But by closing them, we can easily fix the problem of slow loading web pages on our computer. To do this:

  1. Go to your search bar and type “Task Manager” in it.
  2. Next, hit the “Open” button to launch the “Task Manager” app.
  3. Now tap on the “Performance” tab.
  4. Next, click on the “Open Resource Monitor” option, which is located at the bottom.
  5. After that, tap on the “Network” tab.
  6. Next, find all the processes with a large number of “Send” and “Receive” requests. These are the processes that might be consuming all your bandwidth.
  7. Now go to close these apps and services, go to the search bar, and enter “Settings” in the search field.
  8. Next, click on the “Open” button to launch the app.
  9. After that, tap on “Privacy.”
  10. Now use the slider, which is located on the left side, to scroll down a little and then tap on the “Background apps” option.
  11. Finally, disable all the background apps using the toggle button (Located in the “Lets app run in the background” section).

Disable Peer to Peer Update Process

Windows 10 has an in-built feature that allows your computer system to send parts of downloaded Windows and apps to computer systems which are connected on your local network. But by disabling this feature, you can save your bandwidth and fix your problem. To do this:

  1. Go to the search bar and enter “Settings” in it.
  2. Next, click on the “Open” button to launch the app.
  3. Now tap on the “Update and Security” option.
  4. After that, click on the “Delivery Optimization” option from the left-side menu.
  5. Finally, disable the peer to peer update process using the toggle button, which is located in the “Allow downloads from other PCs” section.
  6. You have successfully disabled the “Peer to Peer Update” feature on your computer system.

Disable LSO

As we discussed above, Background apps and services can consume lots of bandwidth and slow down our internet due to which we might face the problem of slow loading web pages. However, simply disabling these apps and processes is not sufficient, and you must disable the LSO (Local Send Offload) feature of Windows 10 too. The Local send Offload feature of Windows 10 allows background apps to consume lots of bandwidth. So, do disable this feature if you don’t want your bandwidth to be consumed by background apps. To do this:

  1. Head over to the Windows 10 start button and then right-click on it.
  2. Now find the “Device Manager” option and click/tap on it.
  3. Next, tap on the “Network adapters” option.
  4. Select your network card or the “Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller.”
  5. Next, right-click on it and then tap on the “Properties” option.
  6. Now tap on the “Advanced” tab.
  7. After that, select the “Large Send Offload v2 (IPv4)” option.
  8. Next, change its value to “Disabled.”
  9. Now select the “Large Send Offload v2 (IPv6)” option.
  10. Next, change its value to “Disabled.”
  11. You have successfully disabled the LSO feature on your system.
