HBO Max Has Still Not Given a Green Light to Harley Quinn Season 3: Reports

 Adult animated television series Harley Quinn has entertained the audience with Quinn’s misadventures and her friend Poison Ivy after breaking up with the Joker. However, the streaming platform HBO Max has not given the go-ahead for a third season. Based on the DC Comics character of the same name, the film Birds of Prey: And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn also gained a lot of popularity when it was screened in cinema halls.

Harley Quinn: A Blend of Animation and Dark Comedy

The show premiered on November 29, 2019. Kaley Cuoco voiced Harley Quinn’s character, and Lake Bell voiced Poison Ivy. Harley Quinn received a lot of positive reviews for its work on animation, voice acting, dark tone, humor, etc. One of the important things the audience might be anticipating is the relationship between Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy. When season two ended, people saw both the main characters become a couple.

The statement mentioned above can be confirmed with the scene when Quinn and Ivy share a kiss. According to reports, the executive producers of the animated television series said that if there is a season 3, then Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy will be a full-blown couple.

“We Would Love to Make a Third Season”

In a tweet, Steven S. DeKnight said that he loved the show and asked if there was a third season. DeKnight’s tweet was met with a reply from the executive producer and writer of the show Dean Lorey. Lorey said that he would love to make another season, adding that they were waiting for a green light from HBO Max. He further added that there was a lot more that could be conveyed in the form of a story.

Warner Media’s HBO Max is a Much Bigger Platform to Showcase Exclusive Content

The show premiered on DC Universe in 2019. According to reports, DC Universe’s original content might shift to HBO Max. DC Universe was launched in the year 2018. It was a platform that gave access to digital versions of comics and DC shows and feature films. DC premiered some stellar original content such as Titans, Doom Patrol, Young Justice, etc.

However, when Warner Media launched an online video streaming platform, HBO Max, it was touted as a bigger platform to showcase exclusive content. Doom Patrol season 2 has already shifted to HBO Max. So, if there is a Harley Quinn Season 3, it might premiere on HBO Max. Given the current situation, there is a massive possibility that online content based on such a popular character from DC Comics might lure a lot of people to access HBO Max.

Harley Quinn is an American Adult animated television series. It is based on the DC Comics character of the same name and has been created by Paul Dini and Bruce Timm. The series follows the story of Harley Quinn after her breakup with the Joker and her quest to join the Legion of Doom (a group of supervillains who originated in Challenge of the Super Friends). Quinn goes on to form her group consisting of members such as King Shark (Ron Funches), Poison Ivy (Lake Bell), Sy Borgman (Jason Alexander), Doctor Psycho (Tony Hale), and Clayface (Alan Tudyk).

The first season of Harley Quinn premiered on November 29, 2019, followed by a second season on April 3, 2020. The final episode of Season two titled Something Green aired on June 26, 2020.
